According to Margaret Cho, all you need to do to get hot abs is to perform oral sex—often. While we would love to accept this as true, we think there are a few abs basics you should know beyond that (think of these exercises as a supplement to your oral skills schedule). First of all, to have sexy, head-turning abs you need to exercise and eat healthily to keep your body fat low. A very basic, yet complete, abdominal program works all areas—upper, middle and lower abs and obliques. Here are some simple beginner exercises we recommend to get started on that 6-pack you’ve always wanted.

trong>ELEVATED LEG CRUNCH
To work your middle and upper abs, place your feet on a bench to form a 90° angle at both your knees and hips. Begin with your head lifted slightly off the floor, keep your elbows back and apply light support to your head. Contract abs, lifting your shoulder blades completely off the floor in an upward motion. (Perform 3 sets of 25 reps.)

trong>LEG X-CROSS
Try this for your lower abs. Balance on your butt, place your hands behind you for support and extend your legs straight in front of your torso over the floor. Cross one leg over the other, extend to start position and alternate. (Perform 30-60 seconds.)

trong>SIDE BEND
Don’t forget your obliques! Balance on one side placing one arm behind your head and the other in front for support, as shown. Lift your torso and your legs simultaneously. Imagine your body is a "V" that is reducing its width. Perform 15 reps on each side.
